Karaoke Kart at Burning Man Newbie BBQ

KJPaul and the Karaoke Kart will be at the Burning Man Newbie BBQ Saturday June 5, 2010 from 4pm until 6pm. The BBQ starts at 11am and the karaoke starts at 4pm. Come out and get your karaoke on in Golden Gate Park.

This June is the 25th anniversary of the Burn! Come join us in Golden Gate Park and celebrate. The Volunteer Resource Team is hard at work planning an amazing afternoon of music, games, food and fun for all, at the:

Karaoke cart is ready to hit the streets, anyone want to join KJPaul for Carnival tomorrow? The Karaoke Kart will join the Carnival parade for a little while and then wander around the Mission. Dress Carnival for some added fun!

Wedding Bells Ring for RVIP Lounge founders

Kestrin Pantera and Jonathan Charles Grubb, founders of the RVIP Lounge & Karaoke were married amongst family, friends and plenty of fanfare, first in Carmel and then again at Flora Grubb Gardens, in San Francisco, April 2-3, 2010.

Kestrin and Jonathan originally met when Kestrin pulled up with her car at Burning Man and saw KJPaul setting up his karaoke bicycle. Kestrin later did a 7 hour karaoke cruise on the karaoke bicycle singing acapella for hours after the computer battery died. Kestrin and Johnathan formally started dating several karaoke parties later and now the are married! The wedding was covered by the New York Times. Here is the New York Times article.

KJ Paul hosted karaoke on the {RV}IP Lounge at the SWSX in Austin March 12-16, 2010 and the event was picked up by the Wall Street Journal. Although you can’t see KJ Paul in the video, he is the one who set up the sound and was running the show. The {RV}IP Lounge is an amazing experience and SWSX was a huge success. KJ Paul and Brooke Cooley orginized The Singing Soup Slut Stands Against Sit/Lie event for the Stand Against Sit/Lie action day.

John Coté did a really nice piece for the San Francisco Chronicle and Brooke is the primary face in the pictures!

KJ Paul used his Car-E-Oke power system for 4 solid uninterrupted hours of off the grid karaoke! The Sidewalk karaoke was a huge success and there is more to come!

Car-E-Oke is a mobile party that is run from on vehicle that runs the karaoke an broadcasts it using an FM broadcaster so any vehicle with a car stereo in range can tune in.

Car-E-Oke can be further enhance by displaying the karaoke text in the control vehicle using a monitor or a projector and allowing people in other vehicle to sing using wireless mics. I have tried it using a cellphone call in, but the feedback loop causes some technical complexities. Any FM radio within range can, however, tune in and listen which can make getting stuck in traffic a lot of fun.

A Car-E-Oke party can also end up at a location where the vehicle(s) park, open the doors and use the combined output of the car stereos as the sound system for the karaoke bar.
